The Hopkins Quarterly welcomes critical, scholarly, and appreciative responses to the lives and works of Gerard M. Hopkins, S.J., and his circle: Robert Bridges, R. W. Dixon, and Coventry Patmore. The Journal encourages contributions from independent as well as academic scholars, from students as well as teachers of literature, from translators, critics, and editors as well as poets, novelists, and playwrights.
Submissions should typically be around 7,500 words, with discursive footnotes kept to a minimum. The co-editors are however open to inquiries from authors with articles that run significantly longer or shorter than the standard academic essay.
To propose a special issue, please contact one of the co-editors directly; book reviews are commissioned, but if you should like to propose a review, please contact one of the book review editors.
Manuscripts should be formatted following the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, and may be submitted via email to either co-editor. Citations from Hopkins’ works should come from the texts listed on the credits page of a recent issue.
